Music, community, and culture are pillars in my life. Growing up in Melbourne, I profoundly connected with art, culture, and entertainment, & recognizing its significance in events, venues, and primarily; people's lives.
In 2020 during all that was happening with Covid and the uncertainty around everything, I chose a new beginning, swapping my settled life for van living. I took this chance to travel up the eastern coast, embrace the change, and recalibrate my priorities in life.
Music has always been my anchor; it cleanses, heals, and offers an escape from a world that can mentally challenge and mislead. Whether it's jamming with friends, performing at venues, corporate events, or weddings, it fills my soul with joy and fulfilment. When I reflect on what I get to do for a “job” I always feel immense gratitude towards music and what it provides for me and my family.
As I compile this 'about me' page, reflecting on my accomplishments over the years, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. I feel fortunate to have spent 15 years earning a living from music, a passion that I dearly love. I cherish my profession, the fascinating people I get to meet, and the sense of community we share.
Apart from being a musician, I am also a passionate lover of “the vibe.” I love helping concept and create venue entertainment, whether it is Live, DJ, or just helping with Direction & Advice. I love helping protect our industry and also helping get more gigs going for my fellow artists and peers.
From a venue & program point of view, I helped create and set up numerous Entertainment Programs & concepts around some of Melbourne's elite venues, including RNBABE, which has been going strong for 7+ years - electric host on Thursday Nights every week. I started 2 Wednesday night jam nights in the CBD & Windsor, La la land (Sofa sessions) & Rossi (In The Corner), which are still active & going strong - Hosted by my dear friends and both creating a unique culture and imprint in Melbourne's thriving music & arts scene.
I helped set up and roll out Entertainment programs for Left bank, Soho, General Assembly, Treehouse Lounge, Mr. Hive @ Crown Casino & many more - Most continue to support the live music industry - which is a fantastic sign of the loyalty & commitment the venues have to the arts.
I continue to work for the "Good company hospitality group" in Melbourne running all Live Concepts and strategy plus since moving to Sydney I have taken on a role with the Boathouse Hospitality Group doing the same thing across their venues - which is super exciting. I also work with Obi & Cian from Alcatraz in Sydney as we have started Sultry and Sampled, a night of creativity and culture - this night has gone from strength to strength, and I can really see the community building & that is what it is all about.
From a performance point of view, I sing, play beats & DJ. I can do Duo to a full band, DJ by myself, or with instrumentalists next to me filling out the sound. We can do covers, or we can create on the fly and improvise.
What style? My style would be somewhere between Neo Soul x Funk x NuJazz x AltRnB & Hip Hop.
What do I DJ? - I love my music catalog. Once we work out our brief, I’ll style guide & curate the playlist for the event. I love everything from RnB, House, Tech & Disco/Funk… for corporate clients & weddings I totally get that you need to play the anthems too. Everyone loves a sing-along. So we can plan that part too.
There are so many things to say! But I have definitely gone over the limit I should for my about me page… if you made it down this far, we are definitely working together! lol.
